Managers of today are called upon to re-invent and re-purpose a number of their strategies. However, the fundamental principles of management are still of utmost importance: effective administration, organization, planning, Time Management, empathic collaboration with teachers & administrative staff, proper selection strategies, team building, imaginative public relations and parent management and communication are the “keys to success”.

The Course will cover the following major areas: Principles of Leadership & Effective Management, School Organization & Administration, Public Relations-Dealing with Parents and Teacher Training & Development.

  1. July 2nd: “Effective Management – Techniques” Definition,Making decisions, handling difficult situations, delegating responsibilities.
  2. July 16th: Time Management & Staff Management, Team definition and team building strategies.
  3. July 30th: “The Leader’s Profile” Leadership and Administration. Leadership techniques, a leader’s goals.
  4. August 6th: “Public Relations, Who are your ‘clients’? What
    is the school’s ‘presence’ within the community and what ‘image’
    do you project?
  5. August 20th: “Parent Management & Communication, Who, What, When, Where, How often?
  6. September 3rd: “Administrative & Teaching Staff Selection”, Successful staff selection depends on a well-organized and inspired procedure: application, interview, case-studies/demo-teaching.
  7. September 17th: “School Administration and Organization, Part I” Organization, Policies, Filing System, Scheduling,
  8. October 1st: “School Administration and Organization, Part II“, Curriculum Planning & Syllabus Design, Materials Development.
  9. October 15th: “Teacher Training & Development”, What are
    your “roles”? What are your “support systems”? Teacher training, Teacher Observation & Feedback.
  10. October 29th: Self-Development & Feedback”, the Manager’s self-development and ongoing self-evaluation, Case
    studies, Q & A feedback – Conclusion.

Each topic is based on experience and practice, offering practical ideas and solutions. * Discussion / Workshop, Special Case Analysis.
