COURSE TOPICS:

  1. January 9: “Managing Children, 7 – 11”
    Discussion of  the principles involved in teaching English to young learners  (7-11), and of the basics of class management, f2f and online. How do we establish and use management strategies? What is the role of the Mother Tongue? How do we assign and correct homework? Discussion of the ways children learn and demonstration of practical activities.
  2. January 16: “Incorporating Opportunities for Interaction and Sharing”
    Discussion on the principles of teaching listening & speaking for young learners, ways young learners communicate orally and how to make them active while listening. How concept mapping has a positive effect on          children’s language skills.
  3. January 23: ” A Playful Approach to Grammar for Children”
    Engaging young learners in producing those foreign language sounds, words and expressions may seem strange to them at first.  Demonstrations and discussion of teaching aids and techniques for creative and memorable English lessons for children of all ages.
  4. January 30: “Aspects of Vocabulary Building”
    What is brain-based strategies to teach vocabulary to young learners. These        strategies require deep cognitive processing and provide students with varied    learning experiences. Examples of different approaches and methods to   teach vocabulary to young learners, and how vocabulary can be acquired   through incidental learning.
